Sugargoo Buying Almanac

Editorial policy

The Sugargoo Buying Almanac is a working desk in Portland, Oregon that orders through Sugargoo, reads the service terms line by line, and tests seasonal parcel preparation — consolidation, rehearsal packing, QC photos, and shipping-line timing — on a five-point scale.

We write for people who are about to spend money with a shopping agent and want to know what the terms actually say.

Every hands-on review is based on an order our testing team placed and paid for through Sugargoo. We keep the order number, the warehouse check-in date, the QC photo set, the rehearsal result, the shipping invoice, and the delivery scan. When we quote a fee or a deadline, we quote it from the page we read on the date we read it, and we say when we read it.

We separate what the terms say from what happened to us. A clause quoted from the service agreement is labelled as a clause. A delivery time we measured is labelled as our parcel. We do not present one shipment as a statistical average.

We do not accept payment for a favourable verdict, and we do not let an affiliate commission decide whether a shipping line appears in a comparison. Where a line pays us nothing and still wins on measured cost and time, it stays in the table.

Corrections are published, not silently patched. Our rating scale is five points, and hands-on scores for products we ordered range from 4.0 / 5 to 5.0 / 5. We do not inflate a score to keep a page tidy, and we do not run a score down for effect.
